Stephen A. Friedman was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1980 and his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1983.

Upon becoming an attorney, Mr. Friedman’s first job was with the DeKalb County Attorney’s office where he represented the county in workers’ compensation cases and in cases involving car accidents on county roads as well as cases where county employees were alleged to have caused the accident. After that, he worked for several different private law firms where he continued to hone his legal skills in representing clients involved with workers’ comp and auto accident cases.

In 1989, Mr. Friedman started the law firm of Stephen A. Friedman & Associates, P.C. which is dedicated to representing individuals with disability and personal injury cases. Mr. Friedman and his firm have represented thousands of individuals in all categories of personal injury and disability matters. Some of the many types of claims he has successfully handled include workers’ compensation, medical malpractice, wrongful death, auto and trucking accidents, products liability and premises liability cases. Mr. Friedman has excelled in these areas and has many satisfied clients to show for his efforts in part because of his years of experience representing numerous insurance companies before getting into the business of representing individuals with personal injury and disability claims. The knowledge gained from his insurance defense background gives Mr. Friedman the expertise to obtain a favorable outcome in such workers’ comp and personal injury matters.

In 1997, Mr. Friedman represented the winning side in a workers’ compensation case that went all the way to the Georgia Supreme Court. That case made groundbreaking law on behalf of injured workers in Georgia, holding that workers’ comp is required to pay for certain medical procedures that may provide relief to injured workers even if the procedure in question is not FDA approved.
